Report a Tagged Fish

If you caught a tagged Bass or Walleye, you can report it by calling the phone numbers provided on the tag, or by filling out one of the forms below. These fish provide us with valuable information for a number of ongoing studies. It does not matter if you keep or release the fish.  If you happen to catch a walleye with one of the special orange pDST tags (see below), please remove the orange tag and claim your $100 reward for recovering it for us.

 

SPECIAL NOTE

Some tagged Walleye have orange pDST tags attached to them (see photo below).  If you catch a Walleye with one of these tags, it should be removed by cutting the line holding it to fish. You should then contact the lab to set up return. These tags are also designed to release from the fish after one year and float to the surface, so you may see a tag floating or washed up on shore. As mentioned above, there is a $100 reward for returning a pDST tag.
